Nosey's Wild Ride on the Belle of Louisville

A silly cat named Nosey takes children on a historic wild adventure during an afternoon chase on the Belle of Louisville.

This book will have your children smiling from cover to cover.
Adventure, laughter, dancing, friendship, compassion, history and a mischevious cat bring this story to life.

The illustrations pop off every single page in this book thanks to the talented Susan Andra Lion.

The book doesn't stop there. There's also a very informative steamboat glossary and a fun search and find game included.

Written by Martha Driscoll, Illustrated by Susan Andra Lion.

Review by Stacy Toten and Carol Lawrence

Author Martha Driscoll has had a longtime love affair with the Belle. As a child, she and her family enjoyed many picnic cruises downriver on the Idlewild. As a teenager, her Jeffersonville, Indiana, high school senior prom was on the steamboat. Martha and her husband attended many moonlight cruises on the boat when it was known as the Avalon. In 1962, when Judge Marlow Cook called for assistance in refurbishing the Belle, Martha volunteered to help paint her. For 27 years, Martha taught reading education at Spalding University. She has lived Louisville, Kentucky, for 50 years. Martha is 88 years old and vision impaired. She still enjoys cruises on the Ohio River and the ambiance of the Belle. Nothing thrills her more than hearing the calliope playing tunes on a summer evening.
