Listen to Your Teeth: Silent Signs You Could Be Suffering From Too Much Stress

Stress is everywhere. It can have a huge impact on your life, but did you know that your teeth often take the brunt without you even realizing it?

It's true -- teeth are one of the first parts of our bodies to suffer when there is too much stress in our lives. That's a big problem, because Americans already deal with a high level of stress. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 40% of U.S. workers report that their job is very or extremely stressful.

But this doesn't mean that you have to let your oral hygiene or teeth suffer. In order to make your smile the brightest it can be, here are some warning signs that your teeth are becoming permanently damaged by stress.

3 Healthy Chicken-Based Comfort Food Recipes That Are Perfect For Fall

For many, fall is a season of comfort and anticipation for the impending holiday season. This means that many people are getting out their chef hats and fall ingredients in hopes of whipping up some comfort food for a chilly day. And considering the fact that Americans consume an average of 90 pounds of chicken every year, chicken is one of the most versatile and beloved foods to incorporate into any dish. Here are just a few healthy and simple chicken recipes to try this fall.

Honey Garlic Wings

Most people hear the phrase 'chicken wings' and instantly assume that they're fried, and therefore, loaded with fat. However, this recipe, provided by The Endless Meal, uses the oven as a healthier cooking method. Unlike other recipes, these wings taste just as crispy as they would fresh out of the fryer. What's more is that the herbaceous blend of spices comes together to create an absolutely delectable flavor profile with fresh garlic, honey, soy sauce, ginger, cilantro, fresh cracked black pepper, and chili flakes. And on the off-chance that you do have leftovers, make sure to store them properly -- vacuum sealers preserve food three to five times longer than food stored in plastic bags or containers. These wings make a great appetizer, dinner, or game day snack.

5 Holistic Remedies to Help Your Child Fight Off the Common Cold

All parents have been there: your child could be running around the house one minute and within the blink of an eye, they are in bed with a cold. Childhood colds are common, with the average child catching between six and 10 of these pesky illnesses a year; and it is no secret that they can be a hassle for any parent to take care of.

Usually, there is no cure for the common cold. Any doctor will tell you that they need to just run their course and the only way you can make your child feel better is to try to alleviate some of their symptoms. But what if, for whatever reason, you don't want to -- or are hesitant to -- give your child standard medications? There are some great, holistic medicinal alternatives to try out, and while we do not advocate these remedies as alternatives for visiting the doctor, they may be able to help your child feel better.

Study: No Evidence Linking Cell Phone Use While Pregnant To Impaired Child Development

As a society, we depend on our technology for nearly every daily task. Some of us might even consider our phones to be an extension of our bodies. There are certain health risks associated with these gadgets, to be sure. For example, your cell phone is likely dirtier than a toilet seat, with 25,000 germs per square inch of surface area. But there is some relatively good news that may ease the minds of concerned parents around the world: a recent study has found no definitive evidence to suggest that using a cell phone while pregnant harms the child's brain development.

According to the study, which was published in BMC Public Health, evidence found that cell phones used by expectant mothers are unlikely to have a negative effect on their child's neurodevelopment. Further, any exposure to radio frequency magnetic fields as a result of cell phone use during pregnancy is not associated with poor neural development in children.

The Five Commandments That Wake Me Up Each Day By Dr. Shefali

Recently Dr. Shefali shared The Five Commandments That Wake Me Up Each Day in her newsletter. With permission, we are sharing it here with you. Yes, it's that good! Enjoy!!

Dearest Conscious Parents and Friends!

If there was one question I contemplate on a daily basis, it would be this:

What is the true purpose of our existence?

I believe that if we are not fulfilling our purpose as sentient beings then we are foregoing the most valuable opportunity of being birthed in this form.

Sure, fancy dinners and jazz festivals are super fun! So are travels and fast cars.

But isn’t life more than this?

Simple ways to show your children they matter!

1. Tell your children and show them they are loved.
2. Say "I love you" a lot!
3. Give numerous hugs. Your children are never too old to hug and tell them you love them.
4. Create an environment that invites everyone to feel free to express themselves.

Case and point. Both my boys are older, 30 and 26, they are not mushy kind of guys, but because we have freely given hugs and said "I love you" to them as they have grown up they freely respond in the same way. At first, when new people arrive in our lives they are sometimes amazed at how freely my sons respond in this way but over time they too allow themselves to express who they are more freely by saying I love you and giving hugs.
