The Power Of Positive Communication

The Power of Positive Communication

Destructive                                                                       Supportive
Rebellious                                                                         Independent
Demanding                                                                        Persistent
Irrational                                                                            Creative
Disobedient                                                                      Strong
Manipulative                                                                     Innovative
Obstinate                                                                          Not Easily Swayed
Resistant                                                                           Focused
Overly Sensitive                                                              Connected
Disrespectful                                                                    Honest

We have the opportunity to create our children with every word that we use to describe them. Many times the words that we use to describe our children are the same words that we secretly use to describe ourselves. These words leak out when we are feeling frustrated. It is helpful to notice when your emotions are getting raw, admit your frustration and choose to identify the situation in a new way.

When you can't catch yourself, have compassion for yourself! We all do the best that we can in any given moment.  ~ Suzy Miller

Brenda Novak's Annual Online Auction for Diabetes Research-Auction Open Now!

New York Times Bestselling Author Brenda Novak specializes in happy endings, and she’s hoping to help provide a happy ending for the 350 million people worldwide that suffer from diabetes. She says, “Ten years ago, when my youngest son was diagnosed with Type 1, I wanted to do some fundraising for research, to help him and everyone else in the same situation. I just didn’t know how to go about it—or where I’d find the time. I had five kids at home and some very tight book deadlines. Then I attended a silent auction at a local elementary school and realized that I could do a similar event on my website, where I could invite the people who visit me on the web to join in my efforts.”

Teaching Children How To Love Themselves

Have your child stand in front of a mirror and say loving things to him or herself.
For example, you can ask them to say, "I really love my eyes."
"I really love the way I smile." "I love myself!"

You can stand next to them and say the same things about yourself as you look in the mirror with them demonstrating how to express gratitude for yourself.

All things are reality

Daily Law of Attraction Quotation

Is it reality, or is it not reality? All things are reality. Even if only one is imagining it, it is a reality in that the thought has been offered and someone, who has the ability to translate that vibration, will perceive it. It must be fair to say that anything that can be perceived must be reality. Because, as creators, your reality depends upon what you are willing to imagine and allow.

Prevent a SUGAR habit By NADINE, N.D., C.N.S

Prevent a SUGAR habit
By NADINE, N.D., C.N.S
Creating RESULTS Holistic Center

Hello and thank you for reading another edition in the sugar series. This article addresses ways on preventing a sugar habit, especially while raising children. Heartfelt thanks and humble gratitude go out to each of you who contributed to this offering of possible solutions for others to explore. As with anything I write, should you as the reader find value in this information, please feel free to share it with another. If this is not for you, a simple thank you I pass, is acceptable.

habit can be defined as an established disposition or practice, meaning it is settled, ingrained, and recurrent. A habit is often unconscious and can be difficult to give up. What is clear with a habit is the behavior or activity was acquired through frequent repetition. If something is done repetitively, an addiction to that behavior or item is formed. As a Nutrition Specialist, when I see what I term as a sugar addiction, years of frequent repetition have occurred. Some of my clients repeat their habit or addiction in public, others hide their behavior. With any form of abuse, common identifiers can include words like hide, dishonest, punish, belittle, anger, lack of trust, self-hatred paired with a low self-esteem.

While exploring ways to prevent sugar addiction and/or sugar abuse, an opportunity exists to create frequent repetition

Today, your help is needed in making a call on behalf of our planet's health. This is not about politics..It's about our health, food supply, and our right to have non-gmo corn, rice, etc.
At this moment, the mega-corporation Monsanto has infiltrated our world's food supply, the FDA, the Supreme Court, and congress. This affect's the whole world's food supply. This corporation created Agent Orange and other poisons. And they are now asking for immunity from lawsuits when people get sick from the GMO food they've created.

Inner Power And Inner Beauty Is What Really Matters

Stacy was sitting in a doctors office this past Friday and saw this awesome quote in Parent and Child Magazine. There was no author mentioned so we are just crediting the magazine. It was so perfectly stated we just had to share!

"Balance your communication. There's nothing wrong with admiring your son's strength or your daughter's beauty. But don't forget to be just as enthusiastic about their creativity, kindness or ingenuity. Doing so allows them to know that in their most important relationships (now and in the future), it's their inner power and beauty that will really matter." ~ Parent And Child Magazine

Daddy's Girl

Stacy's granddaughter Maggie working on daddy's classic truck.

Helping Daddy

Concentrating!

Greasy Hands!

Daddy's Girl
Hello, Daddy!
Time to play,
I missed you,
off at work all day.

We'll seek and hide
and skip and jog,
and when we're done
we'll look for frogs.

Today I helped Mommy
sweep the rugs,
maybe after dinner
you can help me catch bugs.

Maybe I'll help
out in the yard,
fixing the truck
won't be so hard.

I cherish this time
you share with me,
I love you, Daddy,
I know you love me.

Parenting is not always easy. It comes with triumphs and tribulations. We wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. We were born to be parents. It definitely wasn't always easy, even as our children get older it's not always easy. Once a parent, always a parent. Your roles shift and change as your children grow up into adults, you may still want to take their pain away, protect them from poor choices and guide them, but there comes a time when you have to step back and let them navigate their own path.

The importance of saying No By Jennifer Laurent

I recently wrote a post about my undertaking of learning how to set boundaries. As I have ventured down this road, I have spent some time thinking about my own childhood, as well as my son and children in general. I know that for me, I did not learn to set boundaries as a child and therefore did not learn that my boundaries deserve to be respected. I learned to please those around me, and somehow thought that was the way to being loved. I can see clearly how I have found myself in this space, now learning as an adult to set essential boundaries and honor my truth.

Here's a Healthy Chart ~ Eating Organic Vs Conventional Eating.

I was reading an article on All Things Healing about eating Conventional vs Organic. I try and eat organic as much as possible when I can. What i found most interesting in the article at All Things Healing is these statistics.

"An interesting thing to note is the three countries that eat the most organic foods. Per capita, they are Denmark, Switzerland and Austria. According to the CIA World Factbook, Denmark, Switzerland and Austria are all in the top 25 percent ranking of countries with the highest life expectancies, with all three ahead of the United States. In a 2012 study by Bloomberg, Switzerland ranked as the fourth healthiest country in the world. These could be coincidences, of course, but lend more credence to the benefits of buying organic."

One thing the article didn't really touch on is the terrible environmental impact eating the traditional way has.

For me eating healthy is a priority but doing my part to lessen my footprint, by not putting toxic chemicals down the drain, etc are just as important as eating healthy. I hope you will stop by All Things Healing and read their article The Benefits Of Organic Vs Conventional Food By Brandi, pin this info graphic and leave a comment about how you feel about the comparison.

Do you eat organic foods? What organic foods are the most important part of your diet? What about your children? Are you teaching them the difference between the two when you are shopping? Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting our blog. We really appreciate you and are here to support you on your parenting path. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay connected (located on the right), also join us on Facebook. Oops I almost forgot to mention.
